The history of the Feldkirch Festival

Feldkirch Festival since 2007

The creative mind behind the Feldkirch Festivals since March 2007 is Philippe Arlaud, stage director, scenographer and light designer of worldwide renown. His concept of the Festival emphasises contemporary music of the 20th and 21st centuries and is geared to contact with a wider audience and the young audiences of tomorrow.

"I’d like to make music for our time, music with a new accent. Our festival must not be elitist."
Philippe Arlaud, artistic director
